How to Make Homemade Baby Wipes
45
Going green and saving money seem to be high on the "list" these days. Here is one idea that covers both. Homemade baby wipes are quick and easy to make. They keep harsh chemicals and alcohol off your baby's tender skin and will save you money.
What you need:
- Roll of paper towels (I buy a big bag from Costco to save even more money - that lasts me 5-6 months)
- Round or square container with a lid
- Baby Oil
- Baby Wash
- Hot water
Directions:
Cut paper towels in half with a non-serrated knife and pull out the cardboard center. I usually cut and prepare all the rolls at once and store them in my garage/pantry so when I need more wipes I only have to prepare the solution.
Put dry paper towels in the container
Heat 1 3/4 cup water to boiling
Add 1 TBSP baby wash and 2 TBSP baby oil to water. Stir and pour over paper towels and cover.
(Caution - the lid may pop off due to the heat)
Once they cool just pull from the center.
I have been making baby wipes for seven years and rarely did any of my kids ever have diaper rash. You can use whatever wash and oil you prefer but these are by far the easiest way to keep your baby diaper rash free and avoid costly store bought wipes with alcohol in them.
These baby wipes work for me and are part of the Works for Me Wednesday at We are THAT Family~
